sfswimgal asked: My husband and I are interested in adopting a baby girl from China. For a variety of reasons, we will not qualify as adoptive parents under the changing China adoption laws that go into effect on May 1st.
My question is: do we have time to start the adoption process (haven’t done anything yet!) and get our dossier/information in before the May 1st deadline? Or are we already too late because this process takes longer than that?
Also, my husband is Chinese-American (grandparents were from China). Will this result in expedited adoption or other benefits? I assume the May 1st regulations still apply to us but would be curious if anyone has any insights.
Where do we start?

Scarlet asked: I’m 20, have a wedding planning buisness and have a 3 1/2 year old daughter that is my world. But now that she’s getting older and her being kind of lonely, I want to have another baby. I know I can support two kids, I make enough money, my house is big enough.
The problem? I’m a single mom. My baby’s daddy isn’t in her life and doesn’t pay CS, which is fine with me.
I don’t meet ANY requirements for adoption, I’ve checked.
Should I do a sperm donor? Or should I do the surgote mother? I actually have already gotten information on that.
Please help!
I can’t adopt because I’m WAY too young.
I saw Baby Mama too….but that doesn’t mean you can just label every surogate mom!
I’m not wanting this baby out of selfishness. I want another baby to love and care for and I also want my daughter to have a sibling. It can be both,

Hello asked: im gonna try to make this short, my ex sister in law is having my brothers child, shes about 4 months along. shes putting him/her up for adoption. anyway i said straight out id take the baby in since she didnt want it. problem is she has something against me, and is making excuses to why shes giving it away to people outside the family. she already contacted some adoption woman (dont know her name or number) and is going to look for potential parents….since the baby is technically part of my family do i have any say? i have a lovely home. and wouldn’t mind taking this to court..
the dad is having alot of health issues. he wouldn’t be able to take the baby.

Walter Ford II asked: http://news.ph.msn.com/top-stories/article.aspx?cp-documentid=3784359
What percentage of the baby’s being trafficked out of China, are girls?
Would it have been smarter to help instead of help yourself to.
How has adoption played a role in forced prostitution of girls that are currently living in China (ya know the big picture)?

sweetcoloradochick asked: i am so happy that my sister gave her baby up for adoption. the problem is, is that my family is still attached to the child and still call the baby theirs. meanwhile their only grandson, my son is put on the back burner for this baby that isn’t even theirs anymore. i am frustrated and doen right pissed off because my son is put second, even my grandmother will not see my son but made a huge deal about seeing the other baby.
i was not near the family when all of this went down, i have meet the child and do not feel any conection with him because i feel that he has been given to a great wonderful family and that he is now not a part of our family.
my husband is also adopted and i would never consider his birth mother to be an actually part of the family, don’t get me wrong we are very grateful to her, but thats as far as it goes.
how can i convey this to my family in a tactful manner.
it’s an open adoption and it has been 8 months and nothing has gotten better. the adopting family have had to cut contact with my mom and sister who is 19, because they want to go see him all the time, they have seen him about 3-4 times
i am actually my grandmas favorite grandchild because in her eyes i do everything right ( i will let her think that LOL) but i think that she won’;t see him because she doesn’t want to lose another great grandchild
actually, i didn;t adopt and if i did i would tell them of the great and loving sacrifice that their birth mother did for them.
spoochy you are really mature.
my husband is the one that has the harder time eith all of this and he is the one that is adopted. i don;’t think that i would get upset but i see how it is affecting my son and when he asks me why his grandparents always talk about this other child and not him, that tends to hit a nerve.

Tina asked: He has a past criminal recorded. He also lives in a delapatated house. He wont quit smoking pot. I got an adoption agencey. What is my legal rights? He wants to fight for rights. Should I be worried about him getting custity?
he has a past crimanal recourd. He wont quit smoking pot, He wants to fight for rights. We are no longer together. He has 4 other children from 4 other wemen. He dosent care about or want to c. I’ve decided to give her up for open adoption because he has an abusive past with me and the other wemen. I don’t want to subject the baby to. In my heart I feel im doing the wright thing. I dont feel the baby would be safe with him.
I was never maried to this man.
