HYPOTHETICAL QUESTION:
Say if I were to get pregnant tomorrow (I’m 16), what are the pro’s and con’s of keeping the child or giving it up for adoption? Termination of the pregnancy is not an option. The father is a good friend, not someone who I would, the situation allowing, marry, but he would be there to support me and be there for all appts and such. What would you do? I have heard that putting the baby up for adoption is harder on the mother, what with post partum depression and separation depression and such. Opinoins?
Really, I promise I’m not pregnant haha. This is just an area of study that I’m interested in. But sadly, it IS all too common amongst teens all across the country, so I am just trying to understand it all. Thanks

I realize that i need the fathers permission to put my baby up for adoption. But can i simply state that i do not know who the father is when she’s born? I have already contacted agencies and have told them that i don’t know who he is. He is a very abusive man, and wont be able to financially, physically and emotionally provide for a baby. I was dating an abusive man for almost 2 years now & earlier this year I found out I was pregnant. In the course of the last almost 2 years of being & knowing of him, I have been traumatized with too much that I can’t handle to where I can’t get my own life back because of this man. He has done such awful things not only to me but to himself as he is very obsessed with me & has gone so far as to try & hurt himself, making me watch him hurt him self, in MANY types of ways. From being emotionally, mentally, verbally & physically abused with this extremely jealous man to seeing him hurting himself has inflicted alot of trauma within me.

I’m due soon with our baby & I do NOT feel I can do this alone & also his threats of all kinds scares the CRAP out of me. I’m scared of this man period I have severe PTSD. I shouldn’t have to live in fear but how can I care fro a newborn if I’m too scared to for myself?

I have thought of giving up the baby for adoption for HER safety because I do NOT trust what the father will do……I want the best for her.

Is adoption a good idea? I want opinions on this, please. I’m also 36.

suppose the mother doesn’t want the baby and decides to put the up for adoption but the father who is not in a relationship with the mother, wants the baby can he force her not to put the baby up for adoption and if so could he go and sue for child support. Alternatively could he adopt the baby and su for child support, just wondering.
