Buy her some lovely things to pamper herself. She will likely be feeling a tremendous absence in the months ahead because of this difficult decision. Please support her and make sure she knows what a responsible thing she is doing for her precious child. I am so glad she didn’t choose abortion. Dawn J

I have to echo some of the others. The very act of throwing her a baby shower seems unnecessarily cruel. But, I guess…

If you like her, some therapy vouchers. Or, better yet, how about some parenting support along with some regular old baby stuff? If you don’t, a bottle of Jack Daniels, I suppose.

Sounds like she’s struggling with the idea of relinquishing her child.

I’ve nerver heard of a shower for a mom who was surrendering her child for adoption??? I’d ask the person throwing the shower if you are to bring something for the baby that will go to it’s adoptive home with it or are you to being something for the mom for after.

I personally would get her something for after because she is going to be very sad. I’d get her things that are comforting to her (if you don’t know then ask someone close to her that would know). kidmindi

Then why does she need a baby shower?

Just get the mom something as whomever is adopting the baby will be buying things for the baby.

Get the mom a pamper yourself basket, with bath salts, body oil, bath robe, bed slippers, lotion, body creme, perfume, eye mask, face mask, throw in a good book, and a cd for easy listening… or you can get her some clothes, a watch, jewelry… generic stuff or a gift certificate or gift card to her favorite restaurant or shop.
