How come no one wants to adopt a black crack baby?

It seems everyone wants to take a cute little white baby home but these tiny little sweet black bbies need a home too. How come people go and adopt babies overseas when there are black babies right here in the USA who needs a loving home.

personally i wouldnt have a problem adopting a black baby from the usa if it came down to it….

My husband and I have been open to any race from the beginning of our adoption “journey”. There are many people who would love to adopt a baby regardless of race and then there are some who only want white babies. I personally believe that selfishness and a hint of racism plays into their decision. But if they will not love that baby with all their heart - then its good that they don’t adopt them.

Because just like you’re making the assumption that they are CRACK babies many other people are doing the same thing. A lot of people don’t want to deal with children with problems or learning disabilities. So they adopt children overseas because they feel their only problem is hunger. But it has always made me angry when people adopt all those babies in other countries when they could adopt a child here and help not only the life of that child but also the lives of all Americans paying for the government agency to tend to the care of these lost children.

I had a teacher who adopted a balck little boy whose mother was a crack head and happened to have passed it on to her son. He was extremly hyper. She cared for him and now she has molded him into a wonderful kid.
This isnt common but there are some people out there who still try.

I don’t believe in adoption. I can have my own kids thanks!!! I am an adoptee but, I would rather go childless then adopt!!! Thank God above that I can have my own babies!!!!

Mostly because drug addicted babies have many issues with disabilities and things. Sometimes it is easier to adopt overseas because here in the USA there is a long waiting period in which the birth mom can TAKE HER CHILD BACK. Overseas there is not that long weight to have birth moms rights taken away people are afraid of putting $ and time into a baby just to have mommy take it back 5 months LATER. Also there are drug addicted WHITE babies who are not adopted. Personally if i were going to adopt I’d want to be fairy sure there were no disabilities that were going to cost 10,000 dollars to deal with and be a chronic burden on the family.

HAVE U SEEN THE MOVIE SAVING ISAHA????? Go rent it and then ask this question again! I would adopt one in a heart beat and then my family end up with broken hearts and the adopted child when thier so called crack mommy wants them back for awhile to abuse them more!!!!! THATS WHY! Seriously- rent the movie- it makes me cry each and everytime!

will the real answer is It is much harder to adopt outside your race in this country. We tried to adopt a child with darker skin then us and they told us we should stick with or own……. Yes I was pissed… and the more I got these answers I finally just gave up. This land may be free in alot of senses but In most it is not….

people don’t always adopt from the USA b/c of the fact that the birth mother could always come and say “i want my baby back” and then where would the adoptive family be? back in court, b/c the birth mom wants her baby she gave up for adoption back.
we adopted from overseas b/c of the above reason and the fact that it seemed like everyone we talked to either had adopted from haiti or knew someone who had adopted from haiti. not the same way w/ USA, or China, or Guatamala, etc.

Same reason when an accident happens in front of bystanders-no one wants to get involved. I am not for overseas adoptions either. These babies just need love and a chance with a loving family. I agree with you. They should be considered first.
