Hi there
I just had my baby 10 days ago and knew i was not going to breast feed.
Here are some of the tips i got when in hospital and they have worked for me.
1) wear a bra 24 x 7
2) when in the shower do not allow hot water to go near your breasts - keep your back to the shower - what ive been going is having a bath and then washing my upper half in the sink.in cool water
3) Habe absolutly no breast stimulation - pretend theyre not there!
4) My breasts did fill and did leek and were sore for cira 2 days but im fine now- make sure you wear breast pads and take nuerofen for pain relief
Best of luck!

yes there is a drug they can give you that helps your milk not to even come in at all, but sometimes it doesnt work and it comes in anyway. just ask your doc about it, my mom had it.

There are herbs that can help I don't remember the exact ones though, you could try googling it. Maybe black cohosh... DO NOT take any herbs while you are pregnant though because they can cause early labor and miscarriage... you'll probably have to wait until after the baby is born to take anything.

You should pump it for the baby after he's born, even if you're not keeping him. Send him off with a healthy start! He really needs that first milk, at the very least.

It might not be that painful. My boobs hurt BAD when I was pregnant. But, my milk never really came in (and I wanted to BF) and after 24 hours of not nursing, it stopped completely. I did become engorged once, but it was not painful at all.

Ask your doctor, there actually might be something to stop it. Maybe.

You can ask your doctor for advice, I am not sure if there is anything that they can prescribe. However, once the milk comes in you might pump a bit just to relieve the pain. It isn't going to be super painful, just more really uncomfortable. If you pump a bit out you can donate it.

You can't. You can pump and donate your milk to a milk bank. Also, do you think you can give the baby a little milk at first? the colostrum you produce for the baby is supposed to be really good for it.

There will be pain involved. It would be easy to pump..even just once or twice a day, to get some relief. Its MUCH easier (more comfortable) to "wean" yourself off than to just not do anything.

Hot showers help...For a little while..
