baby adoption
P-Knutt asked:

Ok, Lets say your best friend didn’t want her baby, if she wanted to give you the baby, could she give it like that or would an adoption process have to take place?

You still need to sign adoption papers. Good luck, I hope you have a supportive husband and family to help you along the way.

not sure, i think you must go to ss office and fill out a form that the mother give you full parental rights to the baby…its not a big deal at all…and i think its free.

i think an adoption would have to take place to make sure evereything was legal so you wouldnt have any problems later on down the road.

ok first lets just say that is a great thing that your friend is saying adoption is first option and now first of all the first thing u should do is find out the father and if he feels the same way he has to sign papers and sign over his parental rights. Then once he does that it would be easier to call a atty and he will take it to court for the mother to sign her rights over to u. But cover your own butt in that matter if u don’t get the fathers rights terminated and he decides 5 years from now cause he just found out that he has a child and wants to come get his child he would be able to do so.

You would still have to go thru the legal procedures which include:

A Homestudy from a state certified social worker and either an Agency or an Attorney to handle the legal end.

This is a very bad idea!! We’re speaking of a baby human, not a dang sweater!!! If you are trying to rescue this baby, you better be prepared to move out of state or country, because the mother will most likely change her mind eventually. Do not do this!! Get some legal advice!!
