My girlfriend says drinking while pregnant is OK because she’s giving the baby up for adoption?
She quit smoking but REFUSES to quit drinking (Stoly her favorite) because she says no big deal we’re giving the baby up for adoption. She’s been reading things here on Yahoo! Answers and might listen to YOU guys, she won’t listen to me, she says I’m a broken record.

That’s obviously wrong and she will realise it after the baby is born because you can’t hate someone that you tried to hard to create.

Its actually ok if you dont care about another human beings life and you want to rot in hell for destroying someone. She might give it up for adoption but if he comes out mentally retarded then there is very little hope for adoption.

She is sick. It is a good thing she is giving the baby up for adoption. There is not much you can do except keep acting like a broken record.
March 9th, 2009 at 6:47 am
Thats just horrible! why doesnt she just have an abortion?
March 12th, 2009 at 4:27 pm
She actually can drink in moderation while pregnant. I’ve know a lot of girls that have done so and none ever had any problems and all of the babies were completely healthy and normal.
March 16th, 2009 at 12:19 am
Thats pretty selfish of her. Just because she likes to drink she’s going to hurt an innocent child. Selfish.
March 16th, 2009 at 3:10 am
That is rediculous! What does it matter if you are giving it up for adoption? It is still a baby whether you are going to take care of it or someone else is. I hope she stops and does what is right for the baby. The baby cannot make decisions so she has to make them for the baby. I hope she makes the right one.

so she wants to give the baby fetal acohol syndrome and then give it away????? I love that she is giving it up but she should stop poisoning that sweet innocent child.
March 19th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
This is incredibly selfish. she is putting someones life in DANGER because of her drinking habit. SO DESPICABLE!
March 23rd, 2009 at 4:49 am
So let me get this straight. She doesn’t care about the child at all because she’s not keeping it? You should get her some literature on fetal alcohol syndrome. It can make the child a nightmare. There have been cases where adoptive parents have undone the adoptions because of such cases where the children are horrible and mean and violent and can’t be controlled. Then, they end up in the foster care system. Is that what she wants for the child?
March 25th, 2009 at 7:58 am
Thats nice , so its not about the child at all its about her. Ths poor baby might be born with all kinds of birth defects and the only one who really suffers is the child. Stupid people born everyday, what can you do?
March 26th, 2009 at 11:56 pm
GOOD GOD SHE IS MEAN JUST CUZ SHE IS GIVEING IT UP DONT MEAN MAKE THA BABY SUFFER U NEED 2 TALK 2 HER NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
March 29th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
I think you should report her to Child Protective Services or the police. What she is doing is probably a form of child abuse. Certainly if YOU drugged her with a substance that could damage the unborn child, YOU would be arrested. Also, if she thinks that it’s not a problem to fuuck up a baby because it’s not going to be a problem for HER, then WTF are you doing WITH such a person!
I don’t know if you are making this up, but it is a staggering thing.

The baby might be okay. Lots of women drank when they were pregnant before the possibilities of damage to the baby were known.
But the baby may not be okay too…
She’s probably under a lot of stress and I doubt that you bugging her will make her change her mind.

Drinking while pregnant is bad. Unless its a beer called Odouls. Odouls has something in it so that when women are pregnant and want to drink its a beer that doesn’t cause any problems. Its very light. But drinking things that are heavy can cause the baby to have problems later on or while its still a baby

Your girlfriend is a dumba$$.
April 9th, 2009 at 1:04 am
Just because she is giving up the baby for adoption doesn’t mean she has the right to ruin the life, health and overall well being of this unborn child. PLEASE, I urge you to look at what alcohol and smoking can do to a fetus. THe results are rarely good. ANd besides, does she realize that this is a human life we are talking about? This isn’t some arts and crafts project that is going in the garbage later. Please have her see a doctor and figure out what the best treatment for her is. This poor baby didn’t ask to be born and it most certainly does not deserve to be sick because of someone’s very very very poor and ignorant judgement.

Go vistit a childrens hospital and see how they suffer when a mom has drank. Now is not the time to think of your self.

For your girlfriend,
Don’t be selfish. You were the one who had sex and concieved the child. I think it’s great you are considering adoption instead of abortion, but have the decency to help the child have a good life by not drinking! Do you want to doom this child to a life with fetal alcohol syndrome even though your giving it up for adoption. It will be harder to find adoptive parents for a child that has a birth defect. Don’t be selfish. You were the one who had sex and concieved the child. I think it’s great you are considering adoption instead of abortion, but have the decency to help the child have a good life by not drinking!

Ya, it might not be doing her any harm but what about that innocent baby. he/she will have to live with her decisions for the rest of its life-it isn’t fair to him/her. the baby deserves a chance for a healthy and problem free life without added complications why would she want to harm it just b/c she won’t be taking care of him/her. Its not right, even if you don’t want or can’t take care of the baby he/she deserves the best from you while in your care (tummy). there are so many risk out there why add to the list for complications.
hopefully she’ll come to her senses before to much damage is done.
April 14th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
she needs to be locked up for neglect
April 18th, 2009 at 1:45 am
she should rot in hell
April 18th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
It’s ok to have 1 and only one drink. If she is getting wasted whe could cause severe damage to the childs central nervous system, including the brain. That is a very selfish attitude she has to say “well we’re giving it up for adoption anyways.” Does that give her the right to destroy this childs life? Tell her she is very selfish and that one day she will regret her actions. Once the damage is done it can’t be undone, so unless she wants to live her live regreting her actions she better stop now.
April 19th, 2009 at 3:20 pm
No man it’s cool….there are plenty of people looking to take care of FAS babies!!!! Yeah their like totally searching for that mentally handicapped kid so they can watch it drool!!!! Get off her back bro!!!! At least she’s not aborting it right?
April 20th, 2009 at 8:54 pm
Your girlfriend is being selfish. Even though she is giving the child up for adoption the child still should be given a chance to be healthy. Drinking is not good for an unborn child .
April 22nd, 2009 at 1:20 am
Tell her to please stop!!!! Drinking causes all kinds of Birth defects!!!!!! Its unhealthy for the baby!
April 22nd, 2009 at 8:38 am
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is a very serious issue. The baby could wind up with birth defects, learning disabilities or a list of other problems. A lot of the worst criminals in our prison system were FAS babies.
Thats still a life inside her. Just because she isn’t going to be the mommy doesn’t mean it won’t still be alive somewhere and have a mommy who loves it. That is about the most selfish thing I have ever heard. If she really can’t quit, she needs to talk to her doctor about it. Alcoholism is a disease.
April 24th, 2009 at 8:42 am
she should DEFFENATLY stop drinking!!!! =/ even if she is putting up the baby for adoption! if she is addictied, have her start a new addiction, a GOOD one!
