I am pretty sure you will need to speak with a lawyer about this, as far as how to go about gaining custody of the child. It is possible, because that is your child as well so your feelings/wants matter as much as hers. If you cannot afford a lawyer, get a free consult with a lawyer experienced with adoption procedures. You need to speak to an attorney for their best advice and also to get the paperwork for the registry. You can register in any state, for instance if she's originally from a different state, you can register in both her home state and the state she's living in right now. If she wants an adoption and you are willing to take Total and Complete care of the child, perhaps sitting down and negotiating with her would be the best course of action.
