Of course not but I really don’t think anyone that age should be having a child at least not an infant. I can not imagine being a teenager and having your mother be in her 80’s. Sure this lady health may be doing alright she may even feel like a young 66 year old but who knows how she will feel in 10 or 15 years. Its quite selfish imo to have a baby at this age. If she wanted to be a mother late in life she should have adopted an older child or teenager from the foster care system.

lol you have really been using some asinine examples in your crusade against adoption. look, the odds are against teenage, uneducated, single mothers. that is the cold hard truth. I want you to walk through an impoverished Section 8 dominated neighborhood and count the number of single teenage or young mothers. then I want you to check on their children fifteen years down the line. Odds are that they are A young poor single parents themselves or B in jail. Young single parenthood is a cycle and something that we should try to break, not encourage.

Good point - why do we always jump on moms who are "too young" but applaud moms who are too old?

66 year old women can not get pregnant. That's about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The examples you use to try to prove a point in your posts usually show the intelligence and debate skills of a middle schooler! Get an education!

No one should ever have to give up their child. A lot of grandparents raise their grandkids and we don't object to that.

People who are incompetent parents (to the extent that their children are in actual danger) should be forced to give up their children. Otherwise it's none of the State's business whether the parent is 13, 66 or 125. (A 66 year old woman will probably be a better mother, in many respects, than a 15 year old, or even a 25 year old - nothing personal intended.)

(Of course, why a 13 year old is pregnant may be the State's business, but once that's cleared up, whether she should keep the baby or not isn't, unless the baby is at risk.)

A 66 year old who gives birth did not do it with her own egg. This mother used assisted reproduction methods, most likely, a donor ovum.

The chances of her living to raise this child to adulthood are 50/50...maybe. And what about the father? Who is he and how old is he? Does the child have relatives who will step up if and when these parents die?
The chances of a teenager who gives birth living to raise the child to adulthood are far far better. And teenagers have relatives around them who are connected to the child..not contracted through a donor.

I think that we shouldn't have doctors messing with mother nature to allow her to be pregnant in the first place.

I do think that at 66, she needs to have a very active in the child's life person to be there for that child in the event something does happen to her.

I'm a mom of a toddler at 43, through adoption, and although I'm quite able, happy to do so, and loving every minute of it, it's harder at 43 than it was at 23. I can't imagine being 66 and giving birth. She could be the child's great-grandmother.

I also think that teens should be on birth control to stop pregnancies if they're going to be sexually active. Parents need to stop and realize that with or without their blessings, that sex will happen. People of all ages should have the common sense to bear children when they are mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially capable of having children.
