And personally, coming from a person who unfortunately cannot conceive but cannot afford the adoption process either; i think that comment is just someone being lazy and not wanting to take responsibility for their baby. Life is hard, but we just have to pick it up and drive on. If the baby is sick then the mother, single or not, needs to do everything in her power to keep the baby as happy and healthy as physically possible no matter what the sacrifices may be.
