My husband and I know someone that is in trouble with the law and may give her baby up for adoption. We are infertile and really want to adopt. She hasnt said yes yet to anyone but she will have to go to jail a fe days after the birth. She is due in 5 days. If she waits until shes in labor to call us can we still adopt and bring the baby home from the hospital or will dhr get baby if she doesnt want it since we dont have any paper work with atty or a homestudy done as of yet? We wanted to get all of this done asap but we were waiting on her to say yes. We are so nervous that we wont get the baby and it may have to go to foster care.
