We have been contacted about a baby boy for adoption, he has fluid around his brain, what does this mean?

baby adoption
AdoptiveMama asked:

Does it automatically mean that he will be disabled, we really do not know what we could be getting into. Please understand, even if the little one could have issues, that doen’t mean we are going to run from him…we are just trying to understand.

Means hes going to be disabled more likely than not…fluid around the brain is never a good sign!

It sounds like Hydrocephalus. I think there are a lot of kids who live normal, productive lives if they get treated at birth. I bet there some great sites out there that can help you with your decision. Good luck!

Depends on the severity of the condition, but the child could very well have permanent disabilities and special needs.
