We live in Central TX and the adoption agency in our town goes by income. So if you have an in come of 29,999.99 or less, your adoption will be around 7,000. If you have a gross yearlyincome of over $280,000you can expect to pay around $30,000. I don't know why that is, but I think its good that they are allowing ALL families the opportunity to adopt, not just the ppl with the most money as that itself does not qualify ANYONE a "better" parent. We visited several adoption agencies with costs as high as $25000.00. And they wanted you to find your own baby! Crazy! We finally settled on an agency in NW Houston - who charged considerably less for an interracial child. Since it didn't matter at all to us, we adopted an interracial child and it cost about $5000. It was a completely positive experience and we now have a good relationship with the birth mother. I adopted my daughter 8 years ago.
