Aly asked:

Please tell me the rate of adoption within China with the latest statistic possible. This is not the international rate but only the rate of adopition for chinese born babies in china. In other words what is the intranational rate of adoption for China.

Interesting question, and it appears that this may be a bit of a mystery. I did find an interesting blog entry with some info that made me wonder where all of those unwanted Chinese babies are going. See source. Colo_Mom

Here is a link to some information:

China is the one known as “The well oiled machine of adoptiion” and from so friends of mine that have adopted from there, the wait was only 6 months… Then they had the baby!!

So I figure it is got to be high right now!! dariannavargas@sbcglobal.net

If you’re looking to adopt from China I went to a seminar on just recently and overheard the agency spokesperson explain that China is AT THIS MOMENT going to take you between 2 and three years to get a child adopted from there. She said it’s actually closer to three years total time from the moment your paperwork is received. I was floored because I’d always heard adoptions from China were quick and easy because they have so many girls. One couple there was dissapointed, I could tell - as they’d asked questions specifically on Chinese adoption. 4Abbie&4Maddie

I doubt you will find any accurate stats of the number of adoptions within China

This is because many many children are stolen and/or sold. There is no record of those children although it is estimated at 70,000 per year

You can check the Chinese Center of Adoption Affairs website. This is the govt. run organization that handles all of the adoptions in China, both International and Intranational. C P
