You have no say in what your ex sister in law does with her child. The father has more rights to that child than strangers. Sunny

What does your brother have to say about this matter?

I think it is VERY wrong and unmoral of her to give the child up to people other than the child's own bio family when they are willing and accepting. She is immature and only thinking of HER best interest and not the child's best interest (if you are fit to parent that is)

I would talk to your brother about this.He DOES have rights in this matter. He needs to stay on top of this.If he is on board with you raising this child, then he needs to do everything in his power to gain custody of the child and then he can then let you have custody once she signs her rights away.

He needs to look up fathers rights in his state regarding custody disputes to see what he can do to prevent this adoption from going through.A lot of times, fathers have to sign away their rights but mothers could always be little bitches and claim there is no father and give the child away without consent.

I would ask your brother to assist with this for you in order for you guys to keep this baby in the family.Without him, there is little to nothing you can do since you are considered a "legal stranger" to the child.

You should also look up to see if there are any grandparents rights in your state.
Good luck nelawala

It's NOT JUST HER BABY !!! First off where is your brother ? Why is he letting her give away his child ?
Now if your brother has pass away, is over seas or something then you can take her to court and sue for custody.
If your brother his still alive and around then you should talk to him, ask him to get custody of the child then if he wish he can sign custody over to you.
She can not give to baby up for adoption with out your brothers consent.

If your brother wants the baby he will get it before an adoptive couple, but I don't believe YOU would have any rights to the baby. jayne

Where is your brother in all if this? He's the dad. How is the kid going to feel when he or she is older and find out that you are his or her aunt and their dad didn't want them? This is a sticky situation. AE2

It's her baby, you do not have any say; unfortunately. You will always have a chance to find the child though later on and let that child know that people cared. I'm sorry this has happened to you and your family. :( kat2220143
