I definitely would start looking for a family. It could be a long process and the future parents might want to be involved in your pregnancy. thatwudbesofunny

I think once you are past the first trimester it would be a good idea. I foster animals (I do understand this is in no way anywhere close to what you are going to experience) and the only way I can give them back is to keep saying to myself that this is just a time that I’m caring for this animal otherwise I could never give them back. Maybe by keeping the thought that you are having the baby for a wonderful family may help you greatly.

I think women that give up a child for adoption are the bravest and most wonderful people ever and you should be just so proud of yourself for being so selfless. You are truly an angel for this. I wish you all the luck in the world sweetheart. Wendy H

Oh you are a great person for making this choice. As soon as you are 100% sure you want to give your baby up, start looking. You can never have too much time to find the perfect family for your child! <3TTC BEATUIFUL BABY #1<3

You should definitely start looking if you are 100% sure that adoption is what you want to do. There are so many wonderful families out there that would love and cherish your baby and they would even take care of you during the course of the pregnancy. There’s actually websites that can help you find the right family for your baby. Good luck. Pro Cannabis

maybe you can start looking and informing yourself with adopting agencies near you and learn about the process….once you are sure thats what you want to do for sure you can start the process with an agency and look for parents the sooner they are involved the better it will be support for you too….and they may want to be there through it all….I think you are so wonderful and brave for doing this you are not being selfish and going to give your child an opportunity at life….good luck =]] gj006

If you are considering adoption, you can start researching it now. But since you can’t actually place a child for adoption until after the child is born, you have plenty of time to educate yourself and make an informed decision. It’s up to you to find the information. You can’t rely on an adoption agency to tell you everything. You need to fully understand your legal rights in adoption before you make any decision.

At the same time, you can research and educate yourself on the many resources out there to help you parent your child.

Once those adoption is finalized, there is no going back. You cannot undo an adoption if you decide, a few months down the road, that you really do want to parent this child. Either way you decide, this is one of those big, life-changing decisions. Take your time, look at all your options and make an informed decision.

    Good luck.

ETA: At only one month along, you are still getting over the shock of being pregnant. You may feel entirely differently as your pregnancy progresses or even after you’ve given birth. There is no hurry! You have a LOT of time! Jennifer L
