When will it be safe to put my baby guppy into the main tank?
I have a baby fancy-tailed guppy that is 1mounth and 1week old. I have techras, who ate all its brothers and sisters.
Since then, the fish gave birth agien and all babies were saved.
The baby guppy is small, and im afraid if I put it in too soon, the techras will kill it.
When well it be safe to put it in the main tank?
I dont want it hiding in the main tank.
The tank is 29gallons.
I have a fear that the baby would get eaten or sucked into the fiter.
Its a Whisper.Filter by TechraMin.

not for a while, if at all… since they techras are in the main tank now, they have dominance, and look at anything that you put in after them as food or competition.. so I would be careful

When the guppy is very big and doesn’t seem to grow any more, put it in there. I think you should get rid of the tetras. Put them in a seperate tank.

generally speaking, any fish will eat any other fish small enough to fit in its mouth. I’d wait a little bit before introducing them to the tank. or you can buy a divider for your tank. it’s basically just a screen to block one side off. you can use that to keep the babies safe. as for the filter, you can then either put the babies on the other side of the tank, or you can buy an attachment for the filter. its basically a sponge that sits over the filter intake to prevent small fish from getting sucked in.
