She isn't offering her baby for adoption as much as she is offering her baby a stable family that is prepared for the enormous task of parenting. She in turn is giving herself time to grow and mature before she starts her own family. This is a very hard decision to make and one that is worthy of respect.

Teenage girls most often give up their children for adoption because they lack a support system, and can therefore be persuaded that their child will be better off without them.

Pressure from other people, scared that she wont be able to cope, no support.

Some choose adoption because they feel it's best for their child, I have a friend who feared for her child's life as her ex was violent so chose adoption.

There are many reasons a teenager may decide to place her baby for adoption. One being, she is too young to raise the child. She would not have people to help her. The BF leaves. Financial difficulties, and she would never in a million years abort her baby. Adoption is the greatest sacrifice a mother could make.

A teenage girl would decide to offer her baby for adoption because she loves her child and wants what is best for her baby. and realizing that her child would in the long run have a better life with people who are ready for a child and who can support and really want a child because a teenager doesn't have all those things. To really love a child is to what is best for the child NO MATTER WHAT and in a teenage girls life it would be adoption

we've adopted twice. the children are happy and healthy. they are part of our family and have no question that we love them unconditionally and fully. we have a son and a daughter. they love us and each other. they know they are adopted and that they had a birth mother seperate from us. they are cool with that. that's our side of the event.

for the birth mother-- pregnancy is hard. deciding to give the baby to adoption is hard. i've spoken with many such mothers since our own adoptions. they still have an ache in their hearts for each child-- but feel very satisfied knowing that the children are loved in a good home and with a good family. I contrast that with the women who aborted and now have the same ache-- that is unresolved.

you can raise the child yourself. it is best to have support from firends &/or family and it will be a challenge. but the rewards are there-- like anything else you do and work hard at. motherhood is no small thing. single parenthood is no small thing. loving and caring for a child is difficult and challenging even under the best circumstances... but always worth the work. just be prepared that this is a life choice for you and the baby. know that it will determine the next 20 years of your life in a very direct way.
