Why? Most teen mother's cannot afford to raise a child. If they have to work, the child has to go to child care and that's a big chunk of change. Many do not have free daycare available (family members) so it's pretty much impossible.

Without family support or state support (relying on others)..it just can't be done.

My friend in highschool put her baby up for adoption and it was the smartest, least selfish thing I'd ever seen her do. The biggest reason was she knew she couldn't provide for it the way she wanted to be able to, and wanted it to be raised with more opportunities than she could give it. It didnt' help that she was pregnant from a bad relationship, a fact which had a role to play in her decision also. She wasn't eager to raise the child of the dill-hole who pulled her down the stairs in her own house by the neck of her shirt.

It's not just teen mothers that put their baby up for adoption. My very good friend was 25 when she put her baby up for adoption. Adoption is an act of love; the mother wants her baby to have things that she cannot give. A mature woman knows what raising a child entails, and women who give their baby up are simply trying to offer the child a better future.

I applaud the women and girls who give up their babies for adoption rather then keep them in terrible conditions.

Most teenagers can't care for a baby, and don't want to make the babies life bad because of it so they give up the child so he or she has a better chance at a good life.

I would personally be too selfish to do it. I dont think I could be strong enough for that. But many are.

Because unlike some people they are actually unselfish enough to want to give their children a chance at a good life. Because face it, how many teen moms can actually provide the same opportunities as a 2-parent home who actually WANT a child??

Because babies should not be having babies. How can they take care of a baby when they are being taken care by their own mommies? That is why or they just don't want a kid

It takes a lot of love to be able to give up a child for adoption. It is the best thing for a mom to do if she cannot afford to care for her child. You read about so many abuse cases or parents who severely neglect their babies...women give up babies for adoption because they don't want this to happen. They want someone who can provide a good life to take care of the baby.

Like abortion, no one can force a woman to give up her baby. It's a decision the mother makes for the good of her baby.

Would you rather them have an abortion? Pro life for me means anti-murder. I was a teenaged mother myself and I would never, ever, ever get an abortion. If I was not prepared to turn my life around, I would definitely have had the baby and gave it to some one who couldn't have one. Abortion is the easy way out, honey, not adoption.

Some people just arent capable of caring for a child whether it be financially or that they simply cant handle it. If you can't take care of your baby then its better to put them up for adoption where they can be in a loving enviroment and they will have much more opporunities than if they had stayed with the natural mother. Im not saying that teens aren't capable of caring for a baby because my mother was only sixteen when she had me and i personally think she did a wonderful job raising me. Its just that not everyone is in a good enough situation to be able to properly care for a child.

Money, finances, moolah.

Ponder this for awhile.

The costs related to raising kids is getting worse and worse.

When people used to get by one single income households, mothers could devote time and energy toward raising their children.

In the new way of doing things, the double income household still doesn't provide for all the needs of children.

Thus we have many neglected children, and many children winding up at charity's doorstep every single day.

I know...I contribute to these charities, and their appeal keeps getting louder and louder every year.
